THE CREDENTIALS

Chaz has played a variety of musical instruments, but his journey as a musician began at age eight when he started ten years of classical lessons on the piano, including three years of private lessons in Germany, from German piano teachers, when his father was stationed there in the US Army in the early 1960’s.

Chaz played piano/organ for a wide variety of church activities through junior high and high school, including performing with and writing vocal arrangements for the church youth choir. Chaz taught himself to play the trumpet in junior high school and played trumpet/French horn in school band/orchestra from junior high through junior college.

At age 17, Chaz performed George Gershwin’s "Rhapsody in Blue" on the piano with the high school orchestra accompanying him at his high school's Spring Concert his senior year. Chaz has had four years of college in Music and earned a two year degree in Music in 1969.

Chaz was a professional multi-keyboard musician as his principal occupation for more than one dozen years. For the majority of that time Chaz played left-hand keybass on a synthesizer while performing on other keyboards at the same time. When electronic drum machines were first introduced Chaz learned how to program them and integrated its use into his live stage performance – again, while playing left-hand keybass and other keyboards at the same time.

In 1990 Chaz suffered an industrial injury to his left wrist that made that it no longer possible for him to continue to be able to use his left wrist in that same manner.

At the same time that Chaz suffered that injury to his left wrist he was beginning his exploration of digital music/audio as well as other digital multimedia disciplines. Part of that exploration has included three more years of college and a two year degree in Computer Animation/Multimedia from the Art Institute of Seattle in 1996.

Chaz has also earned several computer certifications:

  • CompTIA A+ - Chaz can design and build a desktop computer - both assembling hardware and installing a Microsoft Windows operating system.
  • CompTIA Network+ - Chaz can design and install/configure the hardware/software necessary to create a local computer network.
  • Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA) - Chaz can administer an enterprise-sized computer network.

and Chaz has created a number of websites for himself and others over the past twenty years.

Speaking of which, Chaz’s personal website - which features his online multimedia resume - is located at -

http://www.chazwilliams.x10host.com

where you can explore his other qualifications and experiences in more detail at your leisure. Be sure to have your speakers turned on because a digital voice provides a narration that starts immediately. And the online presentation is Flash based so you will need to use a computer that plays Flash - note that most smartphones do NOT natively display Flash based multimedia content. However the Puffin browser for Android does play Flash content.

The impression these credentials should create is that Chaz Williams has the necessary education/experience in both computers and music to be able to converge those two disciplines into the creation of a digital three dimensional audio environment that heralds the next stage of audio environment expansion.
